Why choose the Power UP Clutch System complete clutch? Having so much horsepower is useless if you can't put it all to the ground. To enjoy it to the fullest, the clutch resistance must be proportional to the increase in your engine's power.
Malossi engineers have created a clutch capable of handling the most demanding applications, for engines producing up to 25 hp and more, with the following features:
Special alloy steel clutch shaft machined from solid metal
Newly designed spring
Equipped with 4 drive discs
Smalley-type locking ring
Thanks to all these features, our complete Power UP Clutch System easily handles power transmissions of around 25 hp, maintaining a manageable lever effort without requiring any modifications: it is compatible with both the original clutch basket and Malossi clutches.
Direct power, guaranteed fun
The nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel used for the shaft gives the component exceptional mechanical strength and toughness. What does this mean in concrete terms? Typically, hubs subjected to centrifugal force and spring load tend to develop a "margerite" effect: with a special alloy steel shaft, this does not happen.
To manage high power while keeping lever effort within acceptable limits, we've opted for a kit solution with four drive discs instead of the original three. This increases transmissible torque without resorting to excessively stiff springs. Although four-disc kits typically exhibit slight drag at idle, we've eliminated this minor drawback with the Malossi Vespa Smallframe clutch. Worth mentioning, then, is the "Smalley" type sealing ring, whose uniform internal microstructure keeps the external surface free of cavities, burrs, cracks, or other imperfections, thus guaranteeing perfect load distribution. The "Smalley" is an innovative spiral system used in many applications, including military and aerospace. The Malossi Power UP Clutch System is designed for owners of small-frame Vespas who want to be assured of direct and flawless power transmission, whether in original or highly modified engines. The best results, such as precision and lever feel, are obtained in combination with the Vespa Smallframe pressure plate.
