It weighs 3.0 kg less than the stock exhaust. A noise-dampening insert is included, as the open version of the system does not have a catalytic converter and was developed exclusively for racetracks or closed circuits. Designed to integrate with the lines of the motorcycle, the resonator is located under the bodywork, hidden by the lower fairings, and the silencer exits on the right side.
It is completed with a striking heat shield, inspired by those of the Yamaha R6 and R1. Impressive performance increases of 4.3 kW (5.9 hp) at 9700 rpm and an additional 2.9 Nm at 5500 rpm were achieved in dyno tests with the Akrapovič exhaust compared to a stock exhaust.
The racing sound lives up to the bike's sporting credentials.
An optional black-coated aluminum silencer bracket is available for the R7 without passenger footpegs.
