GALFER FRONT BRAKE DISC W FLOATECH RACING DF817JCW1G03

FLOATECH RACING 320X6MM

DF817JCW1G03

This is Galfer's JCW1 competition brake disc. It features a brake track made of high-carbon, laser-cut stainless steel, while the core is made of high-strength aluminum (7075 T6 - 6082 T6), offering high strength and significantly reducing the disc's weight.

It is TÜV-approved (KBA no. 61148). It is specifically designed for supersport/sport and racing motorcycles.

These are manufactured using the patented Floatech system:

More stable and lighter: This allows the brake discs to perform better and be more stable in any position or temperature, as well as contributing to a reduction in weight, and therefore, improved motorcycle maneuverability and increased rider confidence.

Improved thermal behavior: Above 200ºC (high temperatures), the brake track tends to expand in all directions. However, thanks to the Floatech system, this increase can be controlled and prevents potential problems with the brake track blocking relative to the disc core.

Improved thermal cutoff: Thanks to the gold-nitrided pins that connect the track and the disc core, they are made of titanium and improve thermal cutoff between the two parts due to their low temperature conductivity. This does not occur, for example, with other materials such as aluminum, which is more conductive than titanium. Optimized structure: Based on studies conducted on disc stresses during braking and the possibility of designing directional discs (left/right) for each side of the wheel, it has been possible to determine the key points of the hub, allowing for an optimal design that provides maximum rigidity with the lowest possible weight. Perfect self-alignment of the pads with the brake disc: This allows for expansion of the track, preventing loss of floatation, thanks to a washer pack and a preloaded spring. The spring tightens and secures the track so that it maintains the same position at all times and is correctly aligned with the brake pads in any situation. This eliminates the free movement characteristic of most discs, preventing the pads from being pushed out uncontrollably when strong vibrations and gyroscopic forces are present when the bike moves during competition, which can cause difficulties when braking. In addition to these advantages, unlike other brands, Galfer discs generally stand out for:

They offer greater braking power.

Lower operating temperatures.

Less prone to warping.

Excellent corrosion resistance
